First off, it depends where you
are. Business jets, for those who can afford it, offer an incredible privacy
option. Both pilots will remain up front unless they need the toilet. And most
are equipped with a lovely couch or some have beds. It's a funny thing,
actually. But I discourage using airliners. Single-row aircraft have usually
three bathrooms; two in back, one in front. Couple that to 90 people onboard and
your chances of spotting goes way up. Especially since the rooms only measure
about four-by-four-by-eight. It's hard enough getting one person in there and
you're limited. Second, you need to understand the human animal's phases in the
day. Normally on an overnight overseas flight, many people will sleep with the
darkness or try to keep in time with the shifting time zones. Going
coast-to-coast is shorter and some people will still remain up late to watch the
movie. Small hops are no good because the plane usually meets attitude then
starts its decent immediately. I've flown commercial many times and worked the
line for six months and I didn't waste all that time cleaning them. I especially
study aircraft anatomy and always look at every aspect. But there's one little
secret I've devised that the thrill can be used for- ABSTENANCE! I fly
aerobatics and have to strap in very hard to prevent from falling out of the
seat when flying sustained inverted. But when I get the urge I loosen the
shoulder belts, tighten the center crotch strap then push the stick all the way
forward. The result renders you useless for a short period of time and erases
the thoughts. Only when you're done your tool is immensely bigger but you can't
do a thing with it!
